    Provides the study of atomic and molecular structure of materials utilized in engineering. Investigates defects in materials, phase diagrams, and microstructural control. Analyzes the relationships between structure of materials and their mechanical, thermal, electrical, corrosion, and radiation properties, and their application to engineering problems.
