Emphasizes the history and concepts of boundary control surveys, as well as the professional role of the surveyor through practical field applications. Includes topics of creation of boundary lines, real property descriptions, metes and bounds, land ownership, and boundary law. Additional focus is given to Federal and State non-sectionalized lands, easements, reversions, and riparian and littoral boundaries. Explores theories and techniques for retracing and resurveying sectionalized lands, locating sequential and simultaneous conveyances, and interpreting combination descriptions. Covers boundary surveys, geodetic computations, subdivision design, and advanced GPS applications also.
