Transfers ToUC and CSUCal-GETC Area 5B · IGETC Area 5B · CSU GE Area B2DescriptionSurveys the basic processes and principles of biology, chemistry and biochemistry with a focus on the cellular functions and metabolism involved in fermentation. Integrates these basic principles with the application of the Scientific Method and the Engineering Process as applied to the technically complex process of fermentation through participation in a project-based learning CURE (e.g., Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experience) in which students participate in hypothesis generation and experimental design testing with computational modeling for process optimization. Not intended for biology or chemistry majors. [D; CSU; UC] (Same as: CHEM 151 )Usually HeldTue Thu 1:20pm–2:45pm
