It also explores various cultures of the Spanish-speaking world and promotes growth in cultural responsiveness while encouraging intermediate-level linguistic proficiency. The Spanish (Castilian) language has been a key instrument of imperialism. We will explore accompanying issues of power as they relate to race, ethnicity, class, gender, and language.
