- A hands-on introduction to black and white film photography, including 35mm film camera operation, exposure and controls, composition and history. Darkroom techniques, and the safe and effective use of materials and equipment will be emphasized. Attention will be paid to issues of race and representation in photography. Student will have access to the film development area and the darkroom, and will be able to borrow a film camera for use in the course.
