Transfers ToCSUDescriptionin HSW 083 before or concurrently with COUN 064 to use the knowledge and skill set in the field to serve diverse consumers. Students will be acquainted with the traditional basic concepts and skills of case management. Students will learn the history and purpose of case management and legal and ethical considerations to consider when providing culturally responsive case management services. Varied opportunities are provided to practice assessment, service planning, completing referrals, monitoring services, and closing a case. Students learn about careers in case management, apply helping skills, and increase their resources and community collaborations. The impact of intersectionality and inequities are examined.
