    knowledge and skill set in the field to serve diverse consumers. General Education: SCC Area 4, Local District Requirement - Cross- Cultural Studies Explore the values, strengths, challenges, concerns and needs of diverse populations including, but not limited to, age, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, physical or psychiatric (dis)ability, sexual orientation, and chemical dependency characteristics. Students have the opportunity to gain insight, knowledge and skills necessary to provide culturally responsive services when working with diverse populations in Human Services and Social Work settings. The impact of intersectionality, bias, and inequities are examined.
