    General Education: SCC: Area 3, Area 4; Cal-GETC: Area 3B, Area 4, CSU2 Survey of the history of the United States from its Native American, African and European origins through the period of Civil War and Reconstruction. Emphasis is placed on analyzing the major economic, social, political, and cultural events, movements and trends that shaped historical developments, examining cause and effect relationships and interpreting primary and secondary sources.
