    General Education: SCC: Area 3, Local District Requirement - Cross- Cultural Studies; Cal-GETC: Area 3A A media studies approach to understanding cultural diversity and intersectionality in America. Includes an examination of the social, cultural, and historical issues that shape media stereotypes and representations of ethnicity, culture, race, gender, gender identity, class, disability, and sexual orientation. Screenings of films and other media content by and/or about people of color (Asian Americans, Black/African-Americans, Latino/a/x and Hispanic Americans, Native Americans), women, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ people, and other cultural groups. Selected readings, written critical analysis, and discussion.
