    Description
    General Education: SCC: Area 3; Cal-GETC: Area 3A Introduction to the analysis of film and digital/electronic media. Examines the broad questions of form and content, aesthetics and meaning, and history and culture. Explores the diverse possibilities presented by cinema through an examination of a wide variety of productions, national cinemas, video forms, and film movements. Topics include modes of production, narrative and non-narrative forms, visual design, editing, sound, genre, media effects, diversity and representation, ideology and critical analysis. Written exams, screenings, and discussion are required. (Formerly CINA 010)
