    General Education: SCC: Area 2; Cal-GETC: Area 2 Discrete mathematics is the study of mathematical structures that are countable or otherwise distinct and finite. Topics covered include set theory, logic, Boolean algebra, methods of proof, mathematical induction, number theory, discrete probability, combinatorics, functions, relations, recursion, algorithm efficiencies, graphs, trees. Discrete mathematics is a cornerstone of computer science and data science.
