    Course Equivalent: ETHN 036 General Education: SCC: Area 3, Area 6, Local District Requirement - Cross-Cultural Studies; Cal-GETC: Area 3B, Area 6 A survey of Literature by African American, Native American, Asian American, and Latina/oAmerican writers that includes an analysis of complicating factors such as racialization andintersectionality. Reading selections will include novels, plays, short stories, essays, and poetry, bynative born, immigrant, and undocumented writers. The course will emphasize the cultural,political, and historical context of these works.
