    General Education: SCC: Area 3; Cal-GETC: Area 3B A survey of literature written in the United States from the end of the Civil War to the present. Through focus on significant works of diverse writers, attention is given to significant literary movements and to understanding, comparing and contrasting the diverse political, religious, social and cultural elements of literature in the United States.
