    Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) Refresher A review & update of EMT (Basic) course content with an in-person lab component to ensure skills competency to meet the requirements for EMT renewal. Based on individual student need topics and skills may include: legal issues (incl.HIPAA); trauma; triage; use of airway/ ven la on equipment with CPR; automated external defi brilla on (AED); pa ent exam (medical & trauma); assessments & treatments for breathing, cardiovascular, neurologic, musculoskeletal, so ssue injury, childbirth & environmental emergencies. Note: Course may be taken for 1 unit/24-27 hours or 1.5 units/40-45 hours. This course is Pass/No Pass only. May repeat every 1-2 years, ad infi nitum (as s pulated by EMSA regulations for EMT I refresher and renewal). The Emergency Medical Services program consists of two courses that do not lead to a certificate, degree or transfer agreement in themselves. However, they prepare students for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians exam to practice as an Emergency Medical Technician. The third course is a refresher course required for EMT renewal. GPS provides possible course pathways to reach the destination of program completion Engineering Engineering Associate in Science Program Description Solano Community College offers a two-year lower division Engineering Program that is designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year university. The lower division Engineering Core Courses recommended by the Engineering Liaison Committee of the State of California have been coordinated between community colleges and the four-year colleges and universities throughout California. As part of our Engineering Program, an Associate in Science in Engineering is available. Although most engineering students transfer to a four-year university, those with an AS degree can also be employed in entry-level jobs that require two years of college-level science and math. The Associate in Science can be obtained by completing the 43-46-unit major, General Education, and electives as needed to complete a minimum of 60 units. All courses for the major must be completed with a minimum grade of C or a grade of P if the course is taken on a Pass/No Pass basis.
