Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionPrepares students to provide pre-hospital basic life support at the scene of an emergency, during transport of the sick and injured, or during inter-facility transfer within an organized emergency medical service system. The course meets the objectives contained in the U.S. Department of Transportation National EMS Education Standards and trains the student to become competent in EMT basic scope of practice. Upon completion of the course students must pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam to practice as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). NOTE: By law, applicants for certification must be at least 18 years of age. Students must present current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course completion card at the orientation meeting in order to enroll in the course.
