Areas of concentration include performance training for play-by-play description, color commentary, compiling and organizing statistical data for football, soccer, volleyball and tennis broadcasts. The course includes an in-depth approach to careers in broadcast communication with concentration on all aspects of research preparation and delivery presentation to establish and sustain a career in sports broadcasting in one or more of the following sports: football, soccer, volleyball and/or tennis. The Certificate of Achievement can be obtained upon completion of the 33-unit major. The Associate in Science may be obtained by completing the 33-unit major, General Education, and electives as needed to complete a minimum of 60 units.
