    Description
    General Education: SCC: Area 4, Local District Requirement - Cross- Cultural Studies; Cal-GETC: Area 4 An introduction to the challenges and promises of intercultural communication with application to American culture, subcultures, and different cultures of the world. Specific focus will be development of the ability to acknowledge and understand the unique voice of people from the African, Asian, Latina, Middle Eastern, and Pacific Island cultures as well as co-cultures within the United States. Through lectures, readings, films, group discussions, written and oral assignments, students will learn the skills necessary to achieve positive outcomes when communicating with others that are perceived as different.
