Topics include organic functional groups involved in biochemistry and the structure and function of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. These topics are discussed in the context of cellular metabolism and human health. The laboratory component will support the course topics including both qualitative and quantitative experiments, and analysis of data.
