    Description
    Men's and Women's Intercollegiate Off-Season (Fall) General Education: Local District Requirement � Health, Lifelong Learning & Self Development Off-season preparation for student athletes to maintain personal health and well-being (both physical and mental), including engaging in self-reflection to facilitate personal insight and their responsibility to themselves and their team. This course includes theory, analysis and execution of offensive and defensive strategies, training for mental and physical skill acquisition, fitness, strength, and flexibility while minimizing injury potential. If eligible, student athletes will have an opportunity for non-traditional competition. Competition eligibility information may be obtained from the instructor. Students may enroll in this course up to 4 times for credit. Kinesiology - ATHL - Intercollegiate Athletics UC limitation of credit: Maximum 4 elective units combined of Activity courses ATHL 022B 0.5 Unit Tennis - Men's and Women's Intercollegiate Pre-Season (Spring) General Education: Local District Requirement � Health, Lifelong Learning & Self Development The development and enhancement of physical and mental performance and maintenance level required for the intercollegiate student/athlete in preparation for the start of the collegiate season of competition. The course will focus on fitness/conditioning as well as sport specific strategies and movements. Competition eligibility information may be obtained from the instructor. Students may enroll in this course up to 4 times for credit. This course is open to all students who wish to try out for competition at the intercollegiate level, with the approval of the instructor. ATHL 025 1.0-1.5 Unit Conditioning - Intercollegiate Athletics In-Season both ATHL (team course) and ATHL 020 in the same season. Each Sport has their own ATHL ___ (#). Take ATHL course that is represented with course of study General Education: Local District Requirement � Health, Lifelong Learning & Self Development An intensive training program for intercollegiate student athletes with a focus on continued development and enhancement of physical performance based upon improving basic skills, speed, flexibility, agility, reaction time, coordinated movement and cardiovascular endurance. Students may enroll in this course up to 4 times for credit. ATHL 050A Peak Performance - Beginning 1.0 Unit General Education: SCC: Local District Requirement - Health, Lifelong Learning & Self Development Exploration of the cognitive, social, and physiological factors influencing peak performance in sport. Students will learn and apply optimal performance techniques for optimizing sport performance through the development of mental skills and strategies for stress management, imagery, goal setting, mindfulness, and concentration. ATHL 050B Peak Performance - Intermediate 1.0 Unit The continued exploration of the cognitive, social, and physiological factors influencing peak performance in students who have taken Beginning Peak Performance. Students will expand and apply more advanced levels of performance techniques for optimizing sport performance through the development of mental skills and strategies for stress control, imagery, goal setting, and concentration. Students will progress to more advanced levels by applying their mental skills in competitive games and customizing individual mental skills programs that apply to individual sport-specific competitions. Kinesiology - Health Education Associate in Science in Public Health for Transfer (ADT: A.S.-T) Program Description The Associate in Science in Public Health for Transfer degree prepares leaders who promote community health, prevent disease, and improve environmental conditions in which people can be healthy. The degree is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in public health and the health sciences, as well as public health theories, concepts, and applications to succeed in upper division coursework in public health and health-related majors at a four-year college or university. The Associate in Science in Public Health is fully transferable to the CSU. Students who meet the CSU's minimum eligibility requirements are guaranteed priority admission to a CSU campus, though not necessarily to a particular campus or major. With this degree you will be required to take no more than 60 semester or 90 quarter units after transfer to complete a bachelor's degree if you transfer into a program at the CSU that's similar to the Associate in Science in Public Health for TransferTo earn the Associate in Science in Public Health for Transfer, students must: 1. Complete 60 semester units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University, including both of the following: a. The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC) b. A minimum of 18 semester units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by Solano Community College District 2. Obtain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 3.
