    Description
    General Education: Local District Requirement � Health, Lifelong Learning & Self Development An opportunity to represent Solano Community College as a member of the Falcon's intercollegiate basketball team. This course includes the theories, analyses, and execution of offensive and defensive strategies, acquisition and development of physical skills, and mental preparation for intercollegiate competition. To be eligible for competition Student athletes will be required to meet the standards of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) eligibility guidelines and decorum policies. Student athletes also must be continuously enrolled in a minimum of 12 units during the semester of competition. Additional competition eligibility information may be obtained from the instructor. Students may enroll in this course up to 4 times for credit and if eligible may participate for two seasons at the community college level. This course is open to all students who wish to try out for competition at the intercollegiate level, with permission from the Head Coach. Field trips will be required to participate in competitions. ATHL 016C 1.0 Unit Basketball � Men's Intercollegiate Off-Season (Spring) General Education: Local District Requirement � Health, Lifelong Learning & Self Development Off-season preparation for student athletes to maintain personal health and well-being (both physical and mental), including engaging in self-reflection to facilitate personal insight and their responsibility to themselves and their team. This course includes theory, analysis and execution of offensive and defensive strategies, training for mental and physical skill acquisition, fitness, strength, and flexibility while minimizing injury potential. If eligible student athletes will have an opportunity for non-traditional competition. Competition eligibility information may be obtained from the instructor. Students may enroll in this course up to 4 times for credit.
