    Building on the skills of line etching, students will create prints using a variety of etching techniques. Tonal techniques such as aquatint and soft ground will allow students to produce printed areas that have gray and black spaces. Attention will be paid to issues of racism, representation, and the power structures that exist in both past and current practices of printmaking. Field trip may be required.
