    Description
    General Education: SCC: Area 4; Cal-GETC: Area 4 An introduction to the study of the concepts, theories, methods, and data of archaeology that contribute to our knowledge of human cultures. The course includes a discussion of the nature of scientific inquiry; the history and interdisciplinary nature of archaeological research; dating techniques; methods of survey, excavation, analysis, and interpretation; cultural resource management; professional ethics; and selected cultural sequences. Several key archaeological sites will be covered and will serve to illustrate central archaeological theories and methods.
