- A broad overview of the characteristics and comparative qualities of materials used in industry. Emphasis is placed on metals, but polymers, ceramics, and composites are studied. Major topics of discussion include material properties and applications. Laboratory experiments will be conducted to investigate and compare the mechanical properties of various materials.
