    This course introduces students from multiple disciplines to basic flight maneuvers of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Students will have the opportunity to operate a drone in our Obstacle Course and earn a Basic UAS flight certification from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The course also covers safety, regulations, and drone registration. This class is part of the Shasta College UAS program that leads students towards the necessary hands-on skills and qualifications required for employment. The UAS program is targeted towards commercial use in various industries such as agriculture, safety, 2025-2026 Shasta College Catalog____________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________Chapter 4: Courses & Competencies 200 construction logging, forestry, law enforcement, geographic information systems, videography, and more. This course may be offered in a distance education format. (CSU transferable)
