There is continued emphasis on listening to and reading Spanish (receptive skills) and on speaking and writing Spanish. Students expand their language skills and vocabulary. Students also improve their ability to ask and answer questions and to discuss current events, health, food, travel, leisure time and activities, and shopping. The course will focus on communicative competence in situations relating to the aforementioned areas and also to art, music, commerce, family, and the future. Students learn to express themselves in Spanish regarding these topics as they relate to the culture of Spanish- speaking people in general and to some specific Spanish-speaking countries.
