    This course is a required course for the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Shasta College. This course is one of two corequisite courses that make up the medical-surgical portion of the third semester of the Associate Degree Nursing program. Students will expand the fundamental clinical nursing skills they mastered. Advanced psychomotor skills will be introduced. Students will have a variety of client assignments in medical-surgical care, with special assignments in diagnostic imaging areas. Students will progress from providing nursing Chapter 4: Courses & Competencies__________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________2025-2026 Shasta College Catalog 193 care for a single client to providing care for several increasingly complex clients. Emphasis is placed on the integration of theory and the nursing process into the clinical setting by use of organizational tools, clinical papers, nursing care planning, chart review, and clinical conferences. A portion of this course may be offered in a distance education format. (CSU transferable)
