    Description
    This course is a beginning course in violin, viola, violoncello, and string bass organized to establish basic skills of tuning, pitch and tone production, both pizzicato and bowed, beginning in the first position until security in the frame of the hand and correct playing position is established. Elementary shifting first to third position on violins/violas. Normal and extended first position on the cello. Half and first position on string bass. This course is designed for older adults but is open to all students. This course may be offered in a distance education format. N NATURAL HISTORY (NHIS)
