- This is a competency for the Early Childhood Education Competency- Based Education Pathway. This competency introduces students to best practices for developmentally appropriate learning environments, curriculum, and effective pedagogy for young children including how play contributes to children's learning, growth, and development. This competency may be offered in a distance education format. ECE 1CB, 2CB, and 3CB are equivalent to ECE 17.
