    Description
    This course is the fourth in a four-course series designed to prepare students for Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) exam. CCNA Routing and Switching Connecting Networks (CN) discusses the WAN technologies and network services required by converged applications in a complex network. The course enables students to understand the selection criteria of network devices and WAN technologies to meet network requirements. The course is offered by Shasta College as the Cisco Regional Networking Academy in the area. Instructional materials developed by Cisco Systems are utilized for the course. Learners are introduced to the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the Internet and other computer networks. The principles and structure of IP addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations are introduced to provide a foundation for the curriculum. By the end of the course, students will be able to build LANs, perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement IP addressing schemes. Learners progress through, gathering requirements, designing basic networks, establishing proof-of-concept, and performing project management tasks. Students will learn about lifecycle services; including upgrades, competitive analysis, and system integration. This course may be offered in a distance education format. (CSU transferable)
