    Description
    C-ID: CHEM 102 This course is a survey of the major classes of organic compounds including structure, nomenclature, properties, reactions, and reaction mechanisms; it is also an introduction to the biochemistry of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids and their basic metabolic reactions. The course is suitable for nursing, dental hygiene, agriculture/natural resources and non-science majors. The lecture/discussion portion of this course may be offered in a distance learning format. (CSU/UC transferable)
