    Description
    This course studies the art and history of floral design. Students will study art principles, and the different art periods and how they influenced floral design. This course emphasizes the skills needed to provide the student with a perceptual base, leading to understanding artistic perception, creative expression, historical and cultural contexts, aesthetic valuing and connections, relations, and applications of the visual arts. In the lab, students will create designs influenced by the different art periods using modern floral techniques, tools, cut flowers, and floral products. A portion of this course may be offered in a distance education format. (CSU transferable)
