Examines beliefs, traditions, rituals and practices surrounding death; health care systems (the hospital and the dying patient, hospice, etc.); death and the process of dying; bioethics – dying in the technology age; euthanasia, suicide, funerals, grief, and bereavement; the law and death, including living wills, organ donation, and autopsies; and life after death – old and new meanings.
