Description: Part 1: In this course, students receive instruction in academic reading and writing, including writing processes, effective use of language, analytical thinking, and the foundations of academic research. Part 2: In addition to the research paper, this course emphasizes expository and argumentative essays, allowing students to gain familiarity with composing in a variety of academic, professional, and civic contexts, including digital environments.
