Emphasis on those authors best exemplifying their period, such as Joyce, Austen, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, the Shelleys, Keats, Tennyson, Newman, Carlyle, the Brownings, Dickens, the war poets, Houseman, Yeats, Wilde and Woolf.
