Transfers ToCSUCSU GE Area D7DescriptionThis course covers the history and philosophy of social work and human services including theoretical frameworks, the function and orientation of social service organizations. Using a multidisciplinary approach, an examination of the impact of cultural, societal, and ethical issues facing the social work and human services field will frame how target populations are served. Through a social justice lens, special attention is given to the evolution current service delivery systems, their policies and procedures, and the tasks of culturally responsive social workers and human service workers within those settings.
