Description: This is the first semester of a year-long sequence covering the fundamental principles and concepts of chemistry and is intended for students studying physical science, life science, and engineering. The topics are to include, but not limited to, atomic structure, quantum theory, periodic properties, stoichiometry, oxidation-reduction, molecular structure and bonding, gas laws, states of matter, solutions, chemical kinetics and chemical equilibrium. This course is a requirement to earn a degree in the physical science, life science, and engineering majors.
