Students will explore borrowed chords and mode mixture; chromatic mediants; Neapolitan and augmented-sixth chords; enharmonic reinterpretation and modulation; ninth, eleventh, and thirteenth chords; pandiatonicism and polytonality; set theory; 12-tone serialism; and advanced concepts of meter and rhythm.
