Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionIn this course, students will explore the principles of urban forestry, careers in arboriculture and tree care, and basic tree biology. Students will also be introduced to tree identification, plant health care, soils, nutrition, planting, worker safety, climbing, pruning, tree risk assessment, and tree care tools and equipment. The course emphasizes the knowledge necessary to be successful in the tree care profession. This course also prepares students for the International Society of Arboriculture’s (ISA) Arborist Certification examination (note that industry experience is also required to register for the exam). Field lectures on the SRJC campus and/or other locations may be required.Usually HeldSat 9:00am–2:50pm, Wed 5:30pm–8:25pm
