This course provides the study of the rudiments of music notation, including scales, intervals, triads and seventh chords. Also included are rhythmic drills, sight singing and exercises using computer-assisted-instruction. This course (or the equivalent) is a prerequisite for all other music theory courses. MUSIC 1 is equivalent to the theory portion of MUSIC 66.
