Transfers ToUC and CSUCal-GETC Area 2DescriptionCal-GETC Area 2 (Mathematical Concepts) This course provides a comprehensive introduction to mathematical principles of quantitative reasoning with practical applications. Topics covered include mathematics of finance, proportional reasoning, validity studies within logic and set theory, probability, and statistics. Additional topics could include applications of Euclidean geometry, applications of math to the arts, or math in politics. The course focuses on the process of analyzing real-world situations, identifying the necessary mathematical foundations, problem-solving strategies, applying learned concepts and quantitative methods, and communicating results. Students will solve and present application problems and engage in mathematical discourse, exchanging ideas, providing feedback, and constructing mathematical arguments.Usually HeldMon Wed 11:30am–12:50pm, Tue Thu 9:30am–10:20am
