    Cal-GETC Area 3B (Humanities) OR Area 4 (Social & Behavioral Sciences) This course surveys the history of science from its earliest beginnings through the theories of the ancient Greeks to contemporary debates. Examining the role of science, technology, and medicine in the history of various world cultures, it focuses on how knowledge of nature is influenced by specific philosophical, political, religious, and social contexts.
