    Cal-GETC Area 3B (Humanities) This course surveys South Asian history from the Indus Valley civilization to the Mughal Empire, offering an overview of the social, intellectual, cultural, political and economic patterns in the region that encompasses modern India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. It highlights such major themes and events in the development of South Asian civilization as Aryan influence, the emergence of Hinduism and Buddhism, and the impact of Islam.
