- Cal-GETC Area 3B (Humanities) This course surveys Mexican history from pre-Columbian civilizations to the present. It addresses such major political, economic, social, and cultural developments as the Spanish conquest and colonial era; nineteenth-century struggles for independence; and political and economic transitions of the twentieth- and twenty-first centuries.
