This course consists of 72 hours of classroom instruction as required by the California Department of Public Health. The content meets Title 22 Health and Safety Code regulations for nursing assistants taking care of the geriatric population in a long-term care setting. Emphasis is placed on the role of nurse assistant, communication/interpersonal skills, prevention and management of catastrophe and unusual occurrences, body mechanics, medical and surgical asepsis, weights and measures, patient care skill, patient care procedures and emergency procedures vital signs, nutrition, emergency procedures, long term care, rehabilitative nursing, observation and charting, death and dying, and patient/resident abuse.Usually HeldMon Tue 11:30am–12:45pm, Wed Thu 11:30am–12:45pm
