It provides an overview of the older adult population with respect to demographics and the aging process. The primary focus is on the role of a non-medical caregiver and the basic skills necessary to assist with daily living needs. Students completing this course will meet the State of California requirements for 10 hour Senior Caregiver Training. Completion of Providing Care to Older Adults, Communication with Older Adults, and Wellness in Older Adults leads to a noncredit certificate, Introduction to Working with Older Adults.
