Considering both traditional and modern methods, the need for strategically focused benefits and compensation processes is addressed. The course examines the related variables that impact employee motivation and performance in a variety of organizations. Special attention is given to benefit planning & negotiation, health & welfare, retirement plans, compensation surveys, non-economic rewards, and legal issues including ERISA impact. Students will learn how to make sound compensation and benefit decisions and how to administer benefit programs.
