    Description
    This course will introduce ethnographic research methods from the field of anthropology to IxD students. Students will learn how to develop ethnographic research to understand users’ needs and issues in the interactive design process. A variety of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies will be explored and practiced by students. The course will also introduce the ethical standards in human subjects research, including the IRB (Institutional Review Board) process and informed consent protocols. This course is open only to students who have been admitted to SMC’s Bachelor of Science program in Interaction Design. See ixd.smc.edu for more information.
