    An introductory overview of social welfare in the U.S. and the provision of social services. The course presents a historical perspective on the development of social work and human services. Special attention is given to institutions, service delivery systems, and their policies and procedures. Emphasis on legal and ethical considerations, diverse populations, and the tasks and responsibilities of culturally responsive social work and human service practitioners within those settings.
