The course explores, in detail, the impact of changing political, social, and economic trends on Native Americans in this country. The dynamic interaction between the dominant Euroamerican cultural patterns and the various Native American cultural patterns explored. Attempts by the dominant culture to destroy and/or modify Native American cultures is a major focus of the course. Of equal importance are the responses by the Native Americans to the attacks against them and their culture.
