Students examine the constitutions, structure, and operation of governing institutions, civil liberties and civil rights, political behaviors, political issues, and public policy using political science theory and methodology. This is an honors course. Students will learn about the Constitution of the United States and the operation of representative democratic government under that Constitution and the process of California state and local government. Honors section highlights student research, writing, and oral presentations, both individually and as part of a learning community. This course was formerly known as POLSC 001H: Honors Politics and Government in America.
